Komang Rai Kastawan is a contemporary Indonesian artist from the island of Nusa Lembongan, Bali, where he continues to live and work with his family. He studied at the prestigious Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) in Yogyakarta before returning to his island home, where he developed a bold, expressionistic style. Deeply inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Rai Kastawan channels raw emotion and personal narratives into his work, blending gestural forms with a distinctly Balinese perspective. His art has been exhibited in galleries in Australia and France, bringing his unique visual language to an international audience. Through his dynamic compositions, he offers a striking fusion of cultural heritage and personal expression.
