Symbolism plays a significant role in Jitse’s work. She translates personal or universal questions onto the canvas, aiming to depict even complex or uncomfortable themes in a way that maintains a sense of lightness. She intentionally leaves space for the viewer’s interpretation, allowing each piece to be experienced in a personal way.
Her inspiration for patterns, shapes, colors, and compositions comes from everyday life, with elements of nature consistently finding their way into her work. Her art is often vibrant and dynamic, yet it carries a certain tranquility and stillness—a balance that, according to Jitse, requires continuous attention in our daily lives as well.
